Sometimes, at the end of the working day or working week, we feel fatigue weighing us down. Here are three ways you can relieve some of this stress and give yourself the hug you need so you can enjoy the rest of the day.

GIVE YOURSELF A MASSAGE

Massage yourself with a mixture of Neroli, Bergamot and Rose Geranium essential oils. These will help relieve some of this tension and balance your emotions.

Neroli is distilled from fresh orange blossoms and has a rich, bittersweet scent. Like many blossoms, it has a cooling effect. It was discovered in the 17th century and is said to have been named after Anna Maria de la Tremoille, Princess of Nerola in Italy, who liked to sprinkle it on her gloves, stationery and scarves. It is a harmonizing scent, both sensual and spiritual. That’s why it has been used in perfumes throughout the centuries.

Bergamot is an uplifting euphoric scent that has been proven by research to reduce stress. We recommend you use Bergapten-Free Bergamot, as it doesn’t cause your skin to become sensitive to sunlight. Although regular Bergamot is more relaxing, if you use it, you must not get into the sun, infrared treatment or any other intense light treatment for several hours.

Rose Geranium boosts emotions and relieves stress.

We recommend you mix 2 drops of Neroli, 2 drops of Bergapten-Free Bergamot, and 6 drops of Rose Geranium per tablespoon of Sweet Almond Oil and massage your whole body with it after a warm shower or bath. Use long strokes on your bones and circular strokes on your stomach and joints. If you are feeling anxious, spend more time massaging up and down the frontal line (which runs from the heart area extending from the front of the neck to the pubic bone, parallel to the spine). Spend some time on your feet, as this affects the whole body. Once you have finished your massage, close your eyes, let it soak in for a few minutes and then wipe off any excess with a tissue.

HAVE AN AROMATHERAPY BATH

Before bed, soothe yourself by relaxing in a bath with a combination of Roman Chamomile and Lavender. Add about 7-8 drops of each to a cup of bath salts. Since the essential oils evaporate quickly, don’t add the scented salts till the bath is almost full. Lie back, close your eyes and let yourself soak. You deserve it!

PUT ON SOME PERFUME

Perfumes aren’t just for romance. Perfumes can help you heal your heart and awaken your spirit. For example, Rose Perfume is said to open the heart, increase trust and dissolve fear. Sandalwood can help uplift your spirit and open your mind to spiritual realms. Perfumes like Jasmine, Bergamot and Patchouli can also help uplift your mood. Maybe you need the pampering that a little perfume brings.

I hope you find that one of these three ways to caress yourself works for you. Or do you have another way to use essential oils to spoil yourself? If so, please share below so that we can all indulge ourselves that way too.
