The ingredients of Bugs BeGone are Citronella, Rosemary 1.8 Cineol, Sweet Lavandin, Eucalyptus Citriodora, Peppermint, and Catnip essential oils.

Citronella has an uplifting joyous scent. It's a cheery lemon-scented oil, rich with the geranium-scented natural chemical geraniol, which gives Geranium Rose its mood-lifting aroma. It also has an uncanny ability to revive exhausted bodies and relieve sore muscles at the same time. It not only repels annoying insects but Citronella actually kills head lice when applied to the scalp.

Sweet Lavandin essential oil is steam distilled from the flowering tops of a hybrid of Lavender and Spike Lavender. Lavandin can be grown more easily than true lavender and thus is less expensive. However, it has different chemical and therapeutic properties than true lavender, so the two should not be used interchangeably. Lavandin's aroma is sharper, more piercing and longer lasting than that of lavender. It is used in perfumes, cosmetics, soaps and lotions. It is antiseptic, antifungal and antibacterial, and has a calming effect. Lavandin is a natural insect repellent. You can place a few drops around your home or on yourself to help repel insects.

Citriodora is a variety of Eucalyptus with a citronella-like scent. It is the essential oil with the highest content of citronellal, (65- 80%). It is therefore very popular as an insect repellent. Eucalyptus Citriodora Essential Oil has strong purifying abilities and specifically benefits skin, respiration, and immunity. Its powerful effects make Eucalyptus Citriodora a household staple.

The fresh, slightly spicy, mint aroma of Peppermint saturates a room with freshness, clarity and vitality. Refreshing and stimulating, Peppermint Essential Oil has remarkably immediate effects on mental functioning. It produces clear thinking and the ability to focus.* It also is an excellent pain reliever so is always useful to have around. It repels mosquitoes, ants, spiders, and other insects.

Rosemary wakes up the body and spirit and is most commonly used in hair care products, as it renews hair growth and can prevent premature baldness. It has also been shown to help repel insects like mosquitoes and ticks. It has positive effect on the cephalic regions, clearing the mind as well as improving memory and overall brain function.*

Catnip, also known as catmint, is a part of the mint family and is known for its ability to make cats "high" on its leaves. (Which is why catnip is stuffed into their toys.) It helps treat colds, fevers, and repels insects, especially mosquitos. The essential oil lasts longer works better than a fresh catnip plant.
