About the Plant:
The Helichrysum Oil comes from the small, bushy, evergreen sub-shrub, which grows no higher than two feet. It has a woolly stem, with linear silver-grey leaves clusters of small mustard-yellow flowers.
Where it Grows:
Serotinum Helichrysum is native to an island of France called Corsica and an island of Italy called Sardinia. Amrita® Aromatherapy is proud to have Certified Organic Serotinum Helichrysum Essential Oil from Italy.
Traditional Uses and Lore:
The Helichrysum Essential Oil is a relatively new oil, only first being distilled in the 1970s. It was made popular by the French when they discovered its extremely therapeutic benefits for healing bruises and scars. The plant has been used traditionally for bronchitis, asthma, burns, rheumatism, headache, migraines, allergies, and liver ailments. It has also been used for skin care and perfume for centuries.

Serotinum Helichrysum Organic Essential Oil is a type of honey-sweet essential oil with an herbal undertone. It has been used with treatments for bruises, small injuries, ear infections, and inflammations.

Helichrysum has a complex aroma with many layers of sweetness, earthy tones, and scents. It’s sweet, herbal, and rich top-note blends with a sweet and fruity middle note and a lingering sweet low note. It has all the therapeutic benefits of the Italicum species Helichrysum. On top of that, the Serotinum variety is a powerful tool to access and process deep-rooted emotional issues.
It is a great choice for skin care, leaving the skin moist, soft and smooth, and preventing dehydration and cracking of the skin. It has powerful regenerating qualities and is excellent at reducing hemorrhaging, making it powerful for healing wounds and cuts. Helichrysum is said to heal bruises quickly as well as fade old scars, prevent new scars, heal acne, eczema, stretch marks, and more. To regenerate scars, it is used in an omega 3 rich carrier oil (rosehip or flaxseed oil).

Heals cuts and scars better than normal drugs (e.g. Neosporin)
Helichrysum has become my family's favourite oil, because of its usefulness. I can't say enough about it, and my wife and I recommend it to everyone. Over the years, it has healed our various cuts and scars like magic. There are manufactured cremes on the market which claim to do the same thing, but with Helichrysum, there's no reason for us to look elsewhere. Most recently, I accidentally sliced off part of my fingertip with a carpet knife. It was just the skin (not to the bone, no veins etc.), but it wasn't a pleasant experience. I applied Helichrysum to it 2-3 times each day, and the substantial piece of missing skin grew back quickly and fully, with NO SCAR. Remember when you were a kid, and you healed quickly? Helichrysum lets you heal like that again.
